YEF Peer Research Showcase at Ealing Council

Ealing Young Champions at YEF hosted their Peer Research Showcase yesterday at Ealing Council. As part of their project, the young researchers reached out to local organisations to learn more about youth participation across community initiatives. They conducted interviews to understand the valuable work being delivered for young people in Ealing and used these insights to inform their research.

At the showcase, the Young Champions presented their findings on several key areas:

Young people’s involvement in cultural institutions

Mental health provision in schools

Employment and apprenticeship opportunities

The experiences of Syrian and Somali communities in the borough

The research, analysis, and presentations were powerful, informative, and highly insightful. The Young Champions highlighted several vital needs, including:

  • A need for more opportunities for young people to engage in initiatives that help them develop skills and progress in their careers
  • Importance of creating platforms and spaces where young people can share their experiences and stories
  • Requirement for local government and institutions to take meaningful action to better support youth development.

Their work demonstrates the value of involving young people directly in shaping services and policies that affect their lives.
